Molten aluminum is silver and cools quickly. Molten steel is bright orange. 911 Disinformation holds that what is clearly molten steel is actually molten aluminum. This belies clear observation and thermal imaging, and it is that unlikely molten aluminum should have been found either. It is important to establish one scientific fact at the outset: it is impossible to make large amounts of steel malleable in the absence of a mechanically forced oxygen supply like a bellows, an enclosed furnace to concentrate heat, and high energy content fuel like coal. If you stand over your barbecue and fill it with coal and squirt lighter fluid on it to try to make the grill soft and mushy, and you are going to be standing there for a long, long time . The maximum amount of kerosene (which is what jet fuel is) which was dumped into the towers was not a large amount to begin with, less than .04 percent of the towers' steel weight alone. Kerosene burns off within 10 minutes.

In the weeks and months after 9/11, numerous individuals report seeing molten metal in the remains of the World Trade Center:
Ken Holden, who is involved with the organizing of demolition, excavation and debris removal operations at Ground Zero, later will tell the 9/11 Commission, "Underground, it was still so hot that molten metal dripped down the sides of the wall from [WTC] Building 6"ÂÂÂ [9/11 Commission, 4/1/2003]
William Langewiesche, the only journalist to have unrestricted access to Ground Zero during the cleanup operation, describes, âââ€š¬Åâ€œin the early days, the streams of molten metal that leaked from the hot cores and flowed down broken walls inside the foundation hole."ÂÂÂ [Langewiesche, 2002, pp. 32]
Leslie Robertson, one of the structural engineers responsible for the design of the WTC, describes fires still burning and molten steel still running 21 days after the attacks. [SEAU News, 10/2001 ]

Paramedic Lee Turner arrives at the World Trade Center site on September 12 as a member of a federal urban search and rescue squad. While at Ground Zero, he goes âââ€š¬Åâ€œdown crumpled stairwells to the subway, five levels below ground. There he reportedly sees, âââ€š¬Åâ€œin the darkness a distant, pinkish glow - molten metal dripping from a beam." [US News and World Report, 9/12/2002]
According to a member of New York Air National Guard 109th Air Wing, who is at Ground Zero from September 22 to October 6: âââ€š¬Åâ€œOne fireman told us that there was still molten steel at the heart of the towers remains. Firemen sprayed water to cool the debris down but the heat remained intense enough at the surface to melt their boots." ÂÂÂ [National Guard Magazine, 12/2001]
New York firefighters recall âââ€š¬Åâ€œheat so intense they encountered rivers of molten steel. [New York Post, 3/3/2004]

[Source: USGS]In response to requests from the Environmental Protection Agency, through the US Geological Survey, NASA flies a plane over the site of the WTC complex, equipped with a remote sensing instrument called AVIRIS. AVIRIS is able to remotely record the near-infrared signature of heat. Analysis of the data it collects indicates temperatures at Ground Zero of above 800 degrees Fahrenheit, with some areas above 1,300 degrees.

Thermite is an incendiary used in some demolitions, not an explosive. It works by melting through steel in an extremely hot and violent reaction, reaching 5,000F, which cannot be extinguished once it ignites. 911 Disinformation sometimes holds that the "building blocks" of thermite were present in the rubble and somehow combined spontaneously to produce thermite. This is utter fantasy chemistry. The presence of thermite in any building fire automatically triggers a criminal arson investigation. The use of thermite would perfectly explain pools of molten steel, as the reaction releases enormous heat-energy. It would also explain the "bowing" in the perimeter columns observed before the final demolition sequence, as thermite melts through interior core columns and all load is transfered to the perimeter walls.

Some speculate that is where remote control of the planes, old technology (controllers at Creech AFB in Nevada flyi remote control drones over Afghanistan a hundred times a day,) was handed off for the final leg to NYC. The inventor of this remote control technology for commercial-sized planes happened to be Dov Zakheim, who was also Comptroller of the Pentagon at the time $2.3 TRILLION was announced missing.. Zakheim was also a member of the Project for a New American Century, the "Neo-cons" who wound up running Bush's foreign policy and dreamed of overthrowing Saddam by force for a decade. PNAC wrote of this goal being elusive absent a "new Pearl Harbor." None of them had ever actually served in the military.

Pentagon Comptroller Dov Zakheim and Commercial Aircraft Remote Control "Flight Termination System"
Flying a plane by remote control is old technology (remote flying is common, Predator drones over Afghanistan.) In October 2001, the government was caught lying that it had the techology to override control of a commercial aircraft from the ground, ostensibly to foil hijackers and guide the plane in for a landing. The inventor of this technology was Dov Zakheim, CEO of Systems Planning Corporation (SPC) and later Comptroller of the Pentagon under George W. Bush at the time $2.3 trillion was announced missing from the Pentagon, on Sept. 10, 2001, the day before 911. The money has never been accounted for. Zakheim is also a member of the Project for a New American Century.

A Raytheon 727 lands in New Mexico in August, 2001. [Source: Associated Press] It is reported that the US company Raytheon landed a 727 six times in a military base in New Mexico without any pilots on board. This was done to test equipment making future hijackings more difficult, by allowing ground control to take over the flying of a hijacked plane.
